Spent the morning exploring the immediate surrounds of the Gatehouse, ended up walking 11km 🙂
Langley chapel was more interesting than expected, but even better was Acton Castle, one of the very early parliaments met here under king Edward :
Next to the castle is the more modern Georgian hall, that is now an international school, Concord College.
Got back to the Gatehouse for a leisurely lunch, had a relaxing bath (no showers here), and settled down with one of the Cadfael novels supplied by the Landmark Trust, as they are set in Shropshire.
